Reduce Cellulite with Cellfina a Cellulite Treatment in San Diego

When you picture your perfect bikini body, we’re willing to bet cellulite on your butt and thighs isn’t part of the equation. Unfortunately, these dimply patches of fat can be nearly impossible to get rid of despite your commitment to a healthy diet and exercise routine. What gives? Cellulite is tricky to treat with kale and cardio alone because fat is only half the problem. Those dreaded lumps and bumps are a result of fat pushing through the connective tissue beneath the surface of your skin. Luckily, you don’t have to live with the cottage cheese effect forever. At San Diego Body Contouring, we’re proud to offer the Cellfina System as our cellulite treatment to treat the root cause of cellulite for a sexy, smooth rear view.

What kind of cellulite treatment is Cellfina?

It’s a minimally invasive procedure that has been clinically proven to reduce cellulite. Performed in our office by Dr. Sarosy, a cellulite treatment typically takes less than an hour and doesn’t require surgery or general anesthesia. Rather, it uses a handheld device and a painless microblade technique to target dimples on the buttocks and thighs.

How does our cellulite treatment work?

To understand how Cellfina works, it’s helpful to know what really causes the dreaded dimples on your bottom and thighs. Cellulite is the result of fat pushing through a honeycomb pattern of connective tissue beneath the surface of your skin. When the fibrous bands that attach your skin to the connective tissue pull down in certain areas, the surrounding fat bulges upward, creating a puckering effect.

Cellfina gets to the root cause of cellulite by releasing these tight bands so the skin can bounce back and smooth itself out. This technology is based on a procedure called subcision and uses a device the size of a needle to treat the structural issue beneath each visual dimple. The fibrous bands relax in as little as three days to reveal smooth results are still evident three years after cellulite treatment.

What’s Post Cellulite Treatment like?

Following a the cellulite treatment procedure, patients are cleared to resume their daily activities right away. However, we recommend taking it easy for the first 24 hours. You may experience mild bruising and tenderness at the treatment site, but these side effects fade on their own within a few days. In the FDA-pivotal study, 90 percent of patients had no bruising four weeks after the treatment.
