Reduce Redness, Age Spots, and Blood Vessels

In this current age of the selfie, most of us have become fairly skilled at hitting our best angles and highlighting our best features in photos. Digital photography makes it easy to delete and retake as many times as necessary until we get it right. But when someone else is taking the picture, the best we can do is hope for a flattering filter before it’s posted on Instagram. For anyone who suffers from rosacea, broken blood vessels, sun spots, and other facial skin concerns, the idea of being tagged in someone else’s photos can be downright anxiety inducing.

Reduce Redness, Age Spots, and Blood Vessels Just in Time for Holiday Photos!

If you’re feeling particularly camera shy due to skin concerns as the season for candid holiday photos approaches, you may want to consider an IPL Photofacial to improve the appearance of your skin. The IPL Photofacial is an effective solution for reducing redness, age spots, and broken blood vessels—and you’ll begin to see the skin-beautifying results right away!

How does IPL Photofacial work?

An IPL (intense-pulsed light) photofacial, also called photorejuvenation, uses a handheld device that emits different wavelengths of light into the skin to treat a broad range of skin concerns. It is particularly effective with rosacea, redness, age spots, sun spots and other issues of discoloration.

Rosacea and facial redness are often the result of abnormal facial blood vessels. Some of those are visible, dilated blood vessels, and others are broken blood vessels. The light from the IPL device targets the dilated blood vessels, shrinking them and correcting the condition causing redness, flushing, and rosacea. In the case of broken blood vessels, the IPL Photofacial can be used to damage the blood vessel wall, so that the blood is directed through healthier vessels that do not show through the surface of the skin.

For those with sun spots and age spots, the treatment works similarly. The photofacial light targets and breaks up the excess pigment. Once fragmented by the IPL, the extra pigment is absorbed and eliminated by the body, resulting in a clearer, more radiant complexion.

What kind of results to expect from IPL Photofacial

Most patients begin to see improvements after their first photorejuvenation session, though some do require more than one session (each spaced one month apart) to achieve optimal results. The number of treatments depends on several factors, including the severity of the condition and the skin tone and skin sensitivity of the patient. The IPL device can be set for a more or less aggressive approach, to be determined by the doctor, which will also affect the number of sessions needed.

When IPL photofacial treatments are done by a trained and experienced medical professional, you can trust that you’ll get the best results in the shortest amount of time possible. But regardless of whether you need just one session or four, we know you’ll be thrilled by the improved look, feel, and radiance of your skin.
