For residents of San Diego and Inland Empire area, breast augmentation is one of the most common cosmetic procedures performed today. It has been proven to be extremely safe with a very high patient satisfaction rate.

Breast augmentation can dramatically improve the appearance of a woman’s breast. The enhancement procedure is used to enlarge small breast, underdeveloped breast, or breast that have decreased in the size after a woman has had children. It is performed on an outpatient basis using a general or local anesthesia. The procedure usually takes about two hours. There are different incision types, as well as, placement for the implants which will be discussed at your consultation.

In his San Diego and Inland Empire breast augmentation practice, Dr. Sarosy offers both silicone breast implants and saline breast implants. He can help you choose the most appropriate implant and method for your breast augmentation procedures.

Silicone Implants – These implants are filled with silicone, which closely mimics the feel of a body’s fat tissue. Silicone implants tend to be slightly more expensive than saline implants.

Saline Implants – These implants are filled with a saline solution during the procedure. They tend to be slightly “harder” or have a baggy feeling; however depending on patient starting breast tissue they may not even notice the difference. These are still an excellent choice.

However as popular as breast augmentations are, there are still risks and complications that can be distressing just like any other surgical procedure. Some of the possible risks or complications can be infections, capsule contracture, bleeding, asymmetry, problems with mammograms, calcification, and deflation. The surgery consultant and the physician will go more in detail of the possible risks and complications that can occur, and what can be done to solve the problem if it does occur.
