• Have you completed childbearing?

• Have you stopped breastfeeding?

• Are you within 10% of your ideal weight?

• Are you in good overall health?

If you can honestly answer yes to all of the above questions, then you’re ready to start planning when to have your Mommy Makeover. But before we discuss that, let’s talk about what a Mommy Makeover actually is.

The Mommy Makeover

A Mommy Makeover is a combination of cosmetic procedures chosen to help you feel great about your body again after having children.  The specific combination depends on the concerns you want to address.  A typical Mommy Makeover may include any combination of the following:

Breast surgery (mastopexy or mammoplasty)

No matter which combination of procedures you and your doctor decide is right for you, you’ll need sufficient time to heal and recover. These procedures are, after all, major surgery. Exactly how much time you’ll need will depend on your chosen procedures and your body’s healing process.  Generally, you’ll need about two to three months until you’re ready to show off your new figure. So the next questions to ask when planning your Mommy Makeover are:

1. When will you be able to take sufficient time to recover?

2. When do you want to show off your results?

Of course, if you can only take the time off during the summer or winter holidays, then that’s the time you’ll need to plan your surgery.  But if you have more flexibility in your schedule, then you’re free to plan a Big Reveal that coincides with the date of your ex-boyfriend’s wedding, your college reunion, or your family holiday photo session.
