Ah, youth. The older we get, the more we think of our youth as a golden time, free from the stresses and responsibilities of adulthood. But if we take the time to remember, we’ll recall that we had our stresses then, too. Friendship, parents, school, and being “cool,” for starters.

And if you suffered from acne when you were younger, you know the embarrassment of those awful eruptions on your face only exacerbated all the other traumas and humiliations experienced during that time of hormonal chaos called puberty.

If we really think about it, some parts of our youth are better left behind us, right?
Unfortunately for some of us, acne scars remain front and center as evidence of a past we’d prefer to forget. Concealer and other cosmetic products can only do so much.

At SD Body Contouring, we can help you get rid of those unsightly acne scars with laser skin resurfacing.

Have fine lines and wrinkles or other facial blemishes that are standing between you and your true beauty? Laser skin resurfacing helps with that, too!

What is laser skin resurfacing?

Laser skin resurfacing is a procedure that uses laser technology to remove damaged skin with extreme precision. At SD Body Contouring, we offer Cortex CO2 fractional resurfacing. Combining carbon dioxide (CO2) and erbium technologies, the procedure removes layers of damaged skin and stimulates the regeneration of healthy skin underneath. The healing process causes new skin cells to form, creating a tighter, smoother texture, and reducing the look of scars, wrinkles, and blemishes.

Because the fractional resurfacing procedure uses a grid of laser beams to spare a percentage of the facial tissue, we can achieve amazing results with a shorter healing time than other laser resurfacing treatments. Additionally, where other procedures often require general anesthesia, CO2 requires only topical anesthesia.

Cortex CO2 resurfacing can improve minor flaws, such as:

  • Acne scars
  • Chickenpox scars
  • Aged or sun-damaged skin
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Deeper facial lines and wrinkles
  • Liver spots
  • Warts
  • Enlarged oil glands
  • Dull skin tones

What to expect from your laser skin resurfacing treatment

When you arrive for your laser skin resurfacing treatment, we will provide you with at topical anesthesia. Then Dr. Sarosy will begin the procedure, which takes about an hour.

After the treatment, you will go home and rest for the first day. Your skin will be pink and tender for some time, but Dr. Sarosy will give you skin care instructions to insure proper healing. It is important that you follow all post-treatment guidelines.

A week after your procedure, you will begin to see the incredible results. The improvements will continue for a few months as new cells are generated and new collagen fibers plump up and tighten your skin.

Imagine a life without acne scars

We won’t promise that you can erase the past for good, but at least you can get rid of the evidence. Doesn’t it sound wonderful to be able to look into the mirror and see the you that you are today, rather than those unappealing reminders of a long-gone past?

At SD Body Contouring in San Diego, we support your vision of stepping into your true beauty and the confidence that awaits you there. Give us a call and schedule a consultation with Dr. Sarosy to determine if laser skin resurfacing is a good fit for you.
