Brazilian Butt Lift: FAQs

You no longer have to envy those fortunate females blessed with voluptuous bottoms you see lounging on San Diego beaches in barely-there bikinis. You can be one of them. With the amazing Brazilian Butt Lift procedure, our board-certified cosmetic surgeons at San Diego Body Contouring can give you the curvaceous figure you’ve always wanted and never knew you could have.

Need a little more information before you commit? Take a look at our Frequently Asked Questions about the Brazilian Butt Lift below.

What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

The Brazilian Butt Lift is a surgical technique for augmenting the buttocks. The procedure itself begins with fat extraction by liposuction. Dr. Sarosy, your board-certified cosmetic surgeon, will remove fat cells from selected areas of your body (abdomen, thigh, or lower back). The fat suctioned during liposuction is then processed and purified. Only the best of those fat cells are strategically transferred into your buttocks by hundreds of micro fat injections. During the healing period, the surrounding tissue will graft onto those purified fat cells, completing the augmentation process.

When it’s all said and done, you wind up with a perky, curvy, and highly enviable bottom.

What do I need to do to prepare for the Brazilian Butt Lift?

You’ll need to get medical clearance prior to surgery. Dr. Sarosy will consult with you about this. This means we’ll need to take a look at your medical history and see record of a recent physical. You’ll also need a CBC blood test. Smokers will need to stop smoking four weeks prior to surgery, and we recommend that you take no aspirin products for one week prior to the procedure. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight on the night before your scheduled surgery.

In some cases, you may be required to gain weight before your surgery so that you have enough fat cells for the procedure. Dr. Sarosy will go over the particulars of your specific pre-op instructions during your consultation.

What can I expect on the day of the procedure?

You will be given IV medication to put you to sleep during the surgery. Be prepared to have someone drive you home. You will not be able to drive for three weeks.

What is the post-op recovery time for the Brazilian Butt Lift?

Just as you must follow certain procedures before your surgery, it is also important that you follow the post-op protocols in order to achieve the longest lasting results:

  • Drink lots of fluids and rest for the first week. Minimal activity and moving around is allowed and encouraged.
  • Wear your compression garment 24 hours a day for two weeks.
  • Do not sit directly on your buttocks for three weeks.
  • Return to San Diego Body Contouring for a follow-up visit at the end of the first week.
  • Take at least two weeks off from work, and plan to stand at your desk in the third week.
  • No driving for three weeks.
  • You should be able to return to most of your usual activities within four weeks.

How long will my beautiful new shape last?

If you follow the post-op procedures and maintain your approximate weight, your procedure should not require any touch-ups or a second round of fat injections.

How much does it cost?

Great question. And great timing, too! Currently, at San Diego Body Contouring, we’re running a special on the Brazilian Butt Lift. For $1,995 (plus the cost of liposuction), you can be the enviable woman with the voluptuous booty, stopping boardwalk traffic in your barely-there bikini.
